This thread is a HOOT! Thanks!

The REAL Claremont diner in Verona burned down in the late 70's/early 80's..."they" said it was a kitchen "grease" fire...and I suppose that is possible. As you know, nearly everything is possible here in NJ!

A new ultra-modern, steel and glass thing was erected on Route 3 West in Clifton called The Claremont Diner. I ate there once.

Best Regards, Julyman16

Thanks. I lived in Montclair in the early 70's. Never ate at the new diner so I'll savor the memory of the original!

So did Tony Soprano!. it was in a scene of the Sopranos, and shortly after that it was demolished. Today it is the site of a Honda Dealer.

I guess you haven't been there for quite a while. It was torn down about two years ago, not before the Soprano's was taped there. It is now a Planet Honda Car Dealership.
