I love when people stop at the basket, throw in the toll, and then WAIT for the green light! Arrghh! I yell out"What are you waiting for? A prize?"

Exit 144 (South Orange Ave in the Vailsburg section of Newark) had a toll booth, but it was never attended. If you did not have exact change, you were supposed to take a little envelope and mail a quarter to the state. The envelopes were NOT postage-paid. I wonder if anyone ever sent their quarters in? And if so, how many of those quarters made it into the state treasury, as opposed to someone's pocket?
