Consider this: the parties to the ratification of the 16th Amendment were Congress and the legislatures of the several states.

Not one state legislature, nor any member thereof, ever challenged the recording of its/his ratification as being invalid. Not at the time of the 16th Amendment's ratification, or since then.

Please note also that nullifying the 16th Amendment doesn't nullify the income tax...except for those who derive their income from ownership and renting of real property.
