Bernie Goldberg, Call Your Agent
Maggie Gallagher's informative piece (on conservative Ivy League professors) this morning should be clipped and put on Bernie's desk.
Now that his book 'Bias' has reached No. 1 on the New York Times Best Seller List (and will remain there next week) this should be his next assignment.

Conservatives are the ones who can read words. Socialists need pictures. That's why they want to return to some village concept where everyone was illiterate and led by the village witch doctor.

I looked for this book yesterday at our local Media Play. Nowhere to be found. I'm wondering just which section on "Cooking" they have it buried in...

I liked most of the book, but good old Bernie called Brent Bozell's group, the Media Research Center, a pack of "scoundrels."
The man is still a rank liberal!

Equally of note, making the top of the
"Worst Sellers List":
(1) "Put Up, Buck Up and Come Back When You Foul Up" by James CarVILE and Paul BUGala
(2)"Now I'll Tell You What I Really Think" by Prissy Crissy Matthews
(3)"Spin This" by Bill "Major Major League Clymer" Press.
In spite of major hawking of this left-wing trash by Tim Russert and other network TV clymers, these three books debuted in 4q2001 and are SPECTACULAR FAILURES.
BWHAH-HAH-HAH-HAH-HAH!!!!!!

Bernie calls the MRC and other like Rush names in his book as a way to describe what the attitude of CBS and the liberal press is.

I expect the Carville book to be at the dollar store before long.

Update:
Freeper Report from the Front LinesMy weekly foray into Barnes & Noble store on 86th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues in NYC (belly of the beast).
The week before last when the early reports were that Bias would be number one on the NY Times Bestseller list (it was 7 the Sunday past) I had EXTREME difficulty finding the book. I went to the "Information" desk and was pointed to the aisle where it was. It was on the bottom shelf.
This past week I again went to the bookstore and it had moved up one shelf to the third from the top.
Just the way the manager would treat a number one by Brokaw or Rather. Ha!

I read about half the book before I loaned it to my dad to read. It's a pretty good read; he does a good job of pointing out specific examples of what people like us knew all along.
Regarding the poor showing of Paul Begala's and James Carville's book: their constituency doesn't buy books. They just swallow whatever's fed to them. Conservatives actually buy books and read them.

Another "Freeper Report from the Front":
When I went to buy "The Final Days" by Barbara Olson, Borders had two copies filed away in the back of the store in a section called "sociology."
On the other hand, that piece of trash book by Fake Catholics CarVILE and BUGala was (of course) prominently displayed on a table right as you walked in the door. Even with all that help from the left wing Clymer bookstores, the leftists still aren't selling any books!! LOLOLOLOLOL
To: umbra
It finally appeared at a nearby Barnes and Noble last week and I bought it Thursday. I read it over the next couple of days and found it very well written and entertaining. It has a storyline centered on Goldberg's personal oddesey since he wrote his op-ed piece for WSJ but shows the mindset behind the current state of affairs in network news. He makes the point that if it was intentional bias it would be easier to deal with than the fully absorbed individual and institutional cultural bias that is the real reality.
A brave book but it certainly isn't "conservative" from a fellow that voted for McGovern and against Reagan. It is professional honesty that he is calling for, nothing less.

The printer did another run of the book right away to get it out so that is why it is taking time to get it in the big bookstores.

Isn't it the perfect gift for a non-conservative, but otherwise well loved, relative? I think my sister may get my copy, LOL.

Same report here too at our Barnes and N, CarVILE is up in front..(and none of them are selling)
To: Pharmboy
The amazing thing is that the NY Slimes labels all the conservative books on the best seller list as "right wingers", ultra "conservatives", and provides "quotes" to insinaute that the book is bunko. However, there is no such labelling for liberal books on the list.
