Wow. This language is more than florid,
it goes all the way to fetid. Phew. A corsage of dandy-lyin'.
Dear Frank,
Whitewater was a massive obstruction of justice from
Bill/Hill. Even you see no evidence of
wrongdoing by the Bush White House
in Enron. Leave the lute to Dowd; from
her we except a string of spongy non-sequiters.
From you, the usual hatred will suffice, and,
should you ever blunder into integrity,
not come back to haunt your Clintophilia.
As to Rich intentionally misrepresenting what President Bush meant, it's laughable. Anyone who heard this: "The president said (1) that he only "got to know" Mr. Lay in 1994" clearly understood him to mean, 1994 is when he and Mr. Lay established more than just a passing acquaintance.
It comes natural to Rich and Richards to insult the intelligence of President Bush. But it's beyond reason to think President Bush would try to convince the media that he didn't meet Lay until 1994. He' not dumb, he knew full well there was a public record of him having met Lay before 1994.
Anyone in the south, including Ma 'Turkey Neck' Richards, understands the phrase, "get to know you". You "meet" lots of people, but you don't "get to know" them until you spend time with them, working or socializing, establishing a relationship.
