Yeah, I'm with you. I don't like seeing the name "Richard Colvin Reid" either. However, I do recall reading that this individual has an English father and a Jamaican mother which would account for the color and texture of his hair and skin. I keep waiting for reporters to disprove this and start calling him Abdul-whatever, but I think if they had this information it would have come out in the media by now. Of course, I could be wrong...

"Maybe the Pakistan secret service ISI knows more..." Yes. And they will tell us all about it. As always!

When it serves the liberal media's angle, they use the new muslim name 100%: Mohammed Ali etc.
If the guy becomes a terrorist, they use the Western name to mitigate muslim guilt.
"Journalism 101".

Really appreciate finding the info on Reid's emails here. Thanks.
"Reid sent an email a testament of sorts to several mosques in England and Belgium. He sent a similar mail to his mother and claimed responsibility for the destruction of an airplane but did not say who he was working for. He wrote that he was a martyr for the Islamic cause and asked his mother to convert to Islam."
(Thank goodness we will be spared his mother in front of cameras on the courthouse steps, claiming her son is innocent!! )

Wasn't his mother here in the US for awhile saying "my son is innocent" and "couldn't do something like this"? Now we know she knew she was lying.

I believe that was the mother of Zacarias Moussaoui, the suspected "20th hijacker," not Reid the "shoe-bomber."
