A little bit of Euro-snotnosed opinion, but all in all not bad considering.

Europe hasn't even been in the same hemisphere with us. They have considered us barbaric for the death penalty (imagine that! with their history of beheadings!), hating us for not supporting Kioto, etc. Finally, it appears that they are getting a dose of reality. Let's see how Europe would defend itself against terrorists. Appears that they would be in deep doggie poo if we weren't around. They know we will always come to their rescue again, and again, and again, and again......in fact, we would send money (again) to rebuild them.

One year on, Mr Bush is in a remarkable position
I know I've remarked on it. More than once I should think. Remarkable indeed.

"Al Gore, bearded and forgotten"
Now that's almost Shakespearian.

" a pretzel-scarred Bush" Joke all they want, BUT I think it's kinda cute. I always get a chuckle out of it. Makes me smile from ear to ear to know he is just like you and I. For some reason I don't get angry when they joke about the killer pretzel, IT ACTUALLY WARMS my heart. I'd rather hear clean jokes over the pretzel than jokes about our ex-RAPIST doing it in the Oral office!

"No one refers to him as "Dubya" anymore". We do, but with affection rather than derision.
