The sentence will also be 'recalculated' in accordance with sentencing changes that have occurred in the years since her crime. She -may- serve only 2.5 years, she may serve more. They keep pretty quiet about that.

Where are you getting your figures? (not saying you're wrong, just wondering). I would think that since she said in her recent bail letter that she would have to serve slightly more than half of what she thought would be an approximately 5-yr sentence, that slightly more than half would still be the case with the longer (suprise!) sentence she actually received. (And just goes to show, don't try to play your judge for a fool.)

The Minnesota women's prison thing I'm sure about, it's practically in my neighborhood. It seems they do crafts and the like, kinda like my sister and her friends have a retreat weekend every year. Not much of a prison.

As for the 2.5 figure, I admit to being fuzzy, hence the marks around -may-. I am not quite clear on the recalculation thing, I've run across no explanation of this. But be aware, it exists. I am quite suspicious of all this, she has many, many friends here in the DFL, the Minnestoa version of the Democrats. She put on live plays before the state legislature, for crying out loud.

I agree. I don't see how she gets out in 2.5 years when she was sentenced to two 10 years to life sentences which run consecutively. Things have toughened up in California sentencing. Paroles come a lot harder. I suspect she will be away for at least 15 years or more. Plus, if she is convicted on the murder charge, she will never see the outside world again.

Now, they should go after her husband who was sheltering a known fugitive from justice. They met in Africa. He had to know.
