The FBI has really lost a lot of prestige however because they aid and abet murderers. Regardless of the legitimacy of their function (I agree with you there--albeit with strict federalist limitations), I think its more time for a house razing rather than cleaning. The public is not prepared to think of this so called democracy as the biggest bannana republic! But, that is what happend under Clinton/reno/ron brown/......

I think you're right, but only to a point.

The difficulty I have is with the notion that the problem lies exclusively with the previous administration.

I'm cynical enough to truly believe that the corruption in Washington and the federal government is systemic... it exists at all levels and in both parties...

which are really mirror images of themselves, with only slight distortion.... one's for big government and the other's for bigger....

Until we realize that and take our "leaders" to task, things will only get worse.
