The AMT cut was going to every company out there, not just Enron. Frankly, I'd rather get rid of the corporate income tax altogether. It only gets passed on to consumers, anyhow.

This is a conservative forum, not a political debate forumWhy, I had no idea. Who can I get the official party line from, you? Don't want to step on any toes.

Right. That's why the Enron lobby was working this year to get it passed, and that's why the Congressional committee staffers added a few extra items for Enron. Nothing strange here, no politics involved at all. That's not why there was a big push for repeal of the AMT this year. Of course not. And it affects everyone, so it was not pushed for $100,000,000 for Enron. That would be crass. Besides, W said he was in favor of the stimulus bill with the repeal of the AMT, so Enron couldn't be involved in that.

You can look at the top of the screen....now look closely....there are the words "CONSERVATIVE NEWS FORUM." Get it?

And where does it say we are not sllowed to debate? What are we supposed to do, trade recipes? I would have to go so far to the left to be a "conservative", I'd feel like Dirty Harry at a quilting bee.
