Evans and O'Neill were both GREAT today

I didn't see O'Neill today, and, to be fair, I did not see all of Evans.

The part I saw was when Timmy had him on the ropes. Russert was spouting the party line from the NY Times and was pointing out their allegedly discrepancies between things Bush has said about his relationship with Ken Lay and what has since been reported in the press--Evans' response was pathetic--he stuttered a lot. After Russert posted all the contributions from Enron, Evans talked about the biggest political donation Bush got was from some guy in Colorado for $38 and change.

He appeared to be evading Russert's questions rather than taking them head on.

Just once, I would like to hear after a chart of all the monies given to the Republicans by Enron, a chart put up showing what the unions give to the Dems. What's the difference?

I saw all of Evans & understood his answers. He turned the tenor of Tim's inuendo back around on Tim. A guy in Oregon (not Colorado) gave Don a check to the campaign for $38 & ? cents. Told Don, quote, "I want to be proud of America again". So he was supporting Bush with all he could spare from his tight family budget. Don even recalled his name! And told Timmy that all of Bush's high $$$ donors were told upfront that they could expect American pride back and not any favors, etc. So if they hoped for favors, etc., THEY HAD THE WRONG CANDIDATE! Evans turned it all around on old Timmy boy, IMO. Bush came off heroic not sleazy. Go Don go! (Gotta love that Midland TX guy.)
