Last night, on ABC channel 8 Dallas, newsreader Gloria Campos reported Bush's claim that both he and former Dem governor Ann Richards took money from Enron. She then threw in that Bush took "almost three tiimes as much money from Enron as Richards." Something like that. At that point, I had to get up and leave the TV room.

Ah, those Enron executives must be feeling pretty stupid right now.

Think of all the money they spent trying to buy government "protection". And, when they needed it most they end up with an ethical president setting high standards for his administration.

In Enron's defense, however, after an 8 year friendship with Clinton how could they have believed this change was possible.

Enron's problem do not have anything to do with Democrats or Republicans. But I can smell a bailout coming.

I agree with the first part. But, IMHO, I think the bailout is dead in the water. Once a "political scandal" begins, all else stops.

You are correct. Enron and Arthur Andersen management are to blame for whatever happened. But what the Dems and the media shills try to spin this into the greates political corruption since Teapot Dome -- this from the same crowd that still doesn't acknowledge any wrong-doing by the disgusting Clinton and his administration.

Kay Bailey Hutchinson, Republican, got more from Enron that any other Congresscritter according to the San Antonio stations. Almost $100,000.

As I recall, everyone's favorite Texan, Sheila Jackson Lee, is one of the largest House recepients of Enron bucks.

The article does not include state/local offices.
