This is unbelievable. In the process of getting a warrant my butt. While it is possible to get a telephonic warrant, based on the little info they had that is doubtful. On a Sunday morning they would have to get a hold of the duty Federal Judge for the warrant, and I doubt they would drive out to his house and talk to him without sufficient information and previous discussion over the phone..My guess if they just winged it and when it went wrong they said they were in the process of getting a warrant..if they thought he was going to leave they could have surveilled him and watched if he loaded anything into his vehicle, if not whatever they were looking for would still be in his home. He might have gotten away but that's the way it goes.

.These guys appear to be felony stupid to me and sound like they went to the same jackboot school as the SS agent who wasn't allowed on the plane....Incredible! More of the same :

It would be nice if we could count on President Bush to personally inquire into this, discharge those who chose to violate the law and ensure it won't ever happen again. Unfortunately, since I believe Bush's support of the 2nd Amendment is purely for political convenience, I won't hold my breath.
