Here's a new one from rush:
Don't forget, Long Term Capital Management. This is a company that was on the verge of collapse, and the Clinton administration went in there and bailed them out on the advice of Robert Rubin."
Can anyone find more on this and post it as a new article?

Great stuff! Will read more in-depth tomorrow (too late now for me).

Hardly, They're too busy beating the war drums. And it appears to be the only song they know.

dear doc will the politicians return these contributions that Enron lavishly gave these people since this money was taken from peoples' life savings. Our politicians would never receive scam money now or would they. let them return this money. politicians never accept dirty money? let us see the ethics of the politics.RETURN PEOPLES' LIFE SAVINGS PLEASE.IF THEIVES HAD DONATED MONEY TO MY FUND, the FBI would knock on my door and request me to return it

Bill Clinton had a golfing "date" with Enron Pres.Lay. Lay was a big contributor to Dem. Texas Gov. Anne Richards and to a certain Liberal Texas congresswoman. Lay and top Enron management contributed to both Presidential Campaigns and to both Democrat and Republican Congressional campaigns. Example: Lay contributed $23,000 to the campaign of Dem. liberal Charles Shumer. So far, I have heard no reports that the President met with Lay, but Paul O'Neill, Sec.of treasury is reported to have fielded calls from Lay requesting a bailout. Thems the facts so far.

Today's Houston Chronicle quoted Rep. Henry "Witchhunt" Waxman saying that he was "very disturbed" that when Enron went to the administration for help, the administration "didn't act to help protect the employees and their families". (Paraphrased from memory).
And yet, you know *damned* well that had the administration instead taken the steps necessary to keep Enron from hitting bottom, Waxman would be screeching like a little schoolgirl about "corporate welfare", "Bush helping his cronies in the oil business", "spending public money to pay off big contributors", blah, blah, blah...
The man makes me want to puke.

Thanks.
The piece would make a great one-page handout (with bullet questions highlighted) for passers-by at future FReeps.
Of course, if any of those questions can be answered in the affirmative, I say, "Book 'em!"

Doesn't the State of California owe Enron for power supplied last year? If this is true, how much is it that is owed? Gov. Davis is "arranging" payback now and Lockyear is trying to get PG&E out of bankruptcy. Somehow I feel that Enron's problems are centered here in California and the Anti-Capitalist Davis administration.

...what they hear from their favorite news anchors. That is the crux of the biscuit! Jennings, Rather and Brokaw will push the bigger than Whitewater schpiel to the hilt, offering no proof of wrong-doing.
The dems will do their best to form a council with the goal of throwing out as much innuendo as they can against the Bush administration.
It's all they got and they will push it as far into 2002 as possible.
With a dumbed-down electorate, a liberal media, a recession and a 2002 election ahead... it's a win-win situation

This is from the standard Democrat play book.
It doesn't matter if there is nothing there.
The idea is to get everyone talking about it. The ENRON/BUSH connection is permantly installed in people's minds. The arguments against, are not.
Clinton's tactic ("This is old news") is the way out of it. Defense (by providing proof) is a loser - it plays into their hands.
They'll do the same thing on the deficit.
Want to know where they're going? Look for clues on the front page of the NY Times each day.
