Great news. This shows that Bush has decided it's time to stand up to Daschle on domestic matters.

Reich, a Cuban-American, never received a confirmation hearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Scalia's nomination was approved in October by the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee but the Democratic-controlled chamber never brought him to a vote.

An honest report of the situation would have put these telling and important facts much higher up in the article. But we don't expect honest reporting from Reuters, do we?
