This guy's editorial opinion is outstanding. That he had the courage to make a major issue of this in this small town speaks volumes of his character.
The Sherrif and a bunch of thugs engage in conspiracy to commit aggravated battery and armed tresspass and it's no big deal!?
If they had no warrant they had no business being on this guy's property and pointing their guns at him. That they then claim the "consent form" justifies their search further compunds their crimes.
I wonder if there's any prosecututor in any jurisdiction who would have the ability and motivation to prosecute these thugs. Personally, I'd like to see "impersonation of law-enforcement official" added to the charges, but that seems unlikely [since the Constitution mandates that all executive officials--including state and local ones--must be bound by oath to support the Constitution of the United States, anyone not bound by such oath is not a legitimate government official].
While it's fortunate that this man's alive, it's unfortunate that goons like the criminals who attacked him are allowed to walk the streets (and continue to steal our tax dollars to boot!).
