Wow. Great idea.
Everyone take the time to call. No-one wants to see the forests carpeted with concrete and tarmac, but appropriate access for forest maintenance, fire-fighting, logging, hunting, and many other uses needs to be allowed. This 'roadless initiative' is destructive to the forests. Thank you.

They're getting HUNDREDS of calls...keep up the good work. And yep, they appear grateful for those of us who are AGAINST this insane policy.

Thanks for letting us in on this VERY important issue. "Roadless" does not equal conservation. "Roadless" means, among other things, no fire access roads. No fire access roads means, among other things, a recipe for a repeat of the 2000 wildfire season.

I've been part of the total forestry management crowd for 30 years. Controlled burns alone will get you another Yellowstone. Were you there? I wasn't. My husband was. He knew most of the firefighters killed there.
In other words you can't just "controlled burn" your way around a forest in order to get rid of the natural kindling for wildfires. A controlled burn won't take out dead trees hit by fast moving insect and or disease infestation.

So called "second growth" will someday become "old growth". See, trees die of old age. Also, State Forestry Departments which practice total forest managemant, such as Pennsylvania's, have the fewest wildfires in the country. There's a reason for that, and it AIN'T "luck".
Not many years ago, even the New York State Forestry Department practiced a similar form of forest management. Last time Hubby did a job up there was 8 years ago. This summer, we'd like to get back there to see the results.

Hey, wait a minute...I think that you and I are in agreement here. I prefer not to argue with those with whom I agree. Peace, bro.

Thanks for this post!
The closure of roads in our forests and other wilderness areas is a key strategy of the enviral Nazis to close the areas to us and only allow the super enviral Nazis in these areas!
They want to creat new enviral/Druid cathedrals in these areas with no one allowed but the elite Enviral Nazis!
In Washington, Oregon and Kali, the enviral nazis, their governors and senators have been working 24/7 for about two decades to seal off entry to these forests and wilderness areas!
Just more of their Rural cleansing of Americanus none enviral humans from their beloved non human areas!
