Oh, you're just so cool. Yeah, I can just see you posting your entire family on the net, or rather in the street. In Egypt they have an expression for it but I can't seem to recall it.

I'm sure that's just what Jesus would have wanted you to say....

Although I suspect he'd want you to wag your finger just a bit more.

No wait, that must have been someone else. Jesus commanded humility, love, compassion, and peace from those who chose to witness in his name.

He also chased the money-changers out of the Temple with a bull whip.

I think you've missed the point here. Jesus doesn't say "ignore sin," as you would have us conclude. I think you'd agree that it is neither loving nor compassionate to ignore self-destructive behavior by friends or family.

By the way, the only things Jesus "commanded" were that we love God with all our heart, soul, and mind; and that we love our neighbors as ourselves.

Jesus also said that we are not the ones who get to judge the eternal results of sins -- that is, it is not up to us to decide whether this or that sinner is going to hell. There are certainly plenty of Christians who go that extra step.

But an injunction against judgement is not the same as a ban on pointing out sins.

This pains me to say this, but Christians, like non-Christians, come in varying levels of maturity. I also believe that many people join Christianity for the same fundamental reasons that many young people became Nazi's in pre-war Germany. Of course, I mean for this to span all groups which offer being part of an "inclusive benevolent" organization and not just Christianity.

I have, for years, seen "professing Christians" on this site reflect a decidedly non-Christian attitude toward others in their posts. Sometimes it means they are just still being worked on by God (as we all are). Sometimes it means they are only members of the church for their own personal gain (I could tell you stories).

They're only human and many of them, like you and me, mean well. This culture doesn't do a very good job of teaching social skills... BTW, regarding married men addicted to porn - my two cents worth: show me such a man (and many of them are Christians - I've seen their history and cache files) and I will show you a wife that restricts sex. Now all we're left with, regarding that situation, is the old chicken-or-egg argument.
