This is the first I've heard of this latest UN scam. This needs to be crushed immediately or sooner.
I thought this was one of the most ridiculous statements in the article:
""What the U.N. is trying to do is act on behalf of high-tax nations who refuse to face the facts of the global economy," de Rugy argued. "They want to force low-tax countries to increase their taxes." There is also the question of how much money the United States would gain or lose as a result of greater international tax cooperation."
Yea..right...just no telling if its going to cost the US or not. Perhaps the UN will cut us all checks!!
Screw the UN - who the hell are they to tell a country that it's not taxing its people enough.

They continue to get it from countries like the US. We'll have to support the welfare nations. Maybe they'll have us provide for their educations and health care as Bill Clinton wanted? Jeezzzz. These liberals need to be dumped in the middle of the ocean.

they have been planning this for more than a decade... it may not happen this year... they'll never let go though, no matter how long it takes.

yes, but doesnt this sound like a possible motive?;
"Because of what happened on Sept. 11, the U.S. may be more willing to buy into some sort of information exchange," added de Rugy. "Usually the U.S. is in favor of financial privacy
but now it is seen as something that protects terrorists."
why not stage another terrorist act to garner greater support within the US for something stupid like this? look at what we've signed up for so far.
