I absolutely agree!I too,am an Ex-Californian.I was born in Santa Monica in 1950.It was a wonderful place!!The Leftists took over in the 1960's-70's largely fueled by the anti-war movement and the likes of Tom Hayden and Hanoi Jane.Pretty soon,it(Santa Monica)was being derisively referred to as"The People's Republic of Santa Monica"It became a haven for things like"Rent-Control"and various stupid homeless initiatives.It's a mess now!!!I hope that the people are finally waking up and that they will shed this leftist nonsense!!!!
