Gee, I seem to have missed the part where he said, "I caused billions of your dollars to evaporate and threw your State's bond rating into the crapper and pulled the chain."

Grey Davis would never say such a thing. However, he would say pretty much the same thing if you re-wrote it in a manner that took about five hundred words to say.

No new taxes huh?????? Not quite!!!! I heard Gov. "Red" Davis mention improving schools by the Prop 39 initiative, which voters can approve their property taxes to be raised in order to pay for school improvements.
Notice how Red never mentioned how he squandered the surplus on buying energy for high prices and then selling it at a loss???

Gray Davis is to the right of the Rats in the State Legislature on this one. Its going to be interesting to see what he does when they advance measure to raise taxes. They can't be happy at what they heard tonight. A Democrat sounding like a Republican?? That must have set their teeth on edge. LOL!!!

Oh that's true. That was a tax increase. In all fairness the hard-pressed taxpayers' relented at the liberal dot.com multi-billionaires and Gray Davis' urging to reduce the rate needed to approve property tax hikes to 55% since they were assured "its for the children." Although somehow I don't think those liberal dot.com multi-billionaires will be ready to pony a chunk of their income to get the government out of the budget hole its in. Liberals are good at talking when it comes to compassion, but they don't walk it when they're asked to put their money where their mouths are. We'll see if Davis resists the new tax hikes his own party is sure to insist upon in the coming months leading up to the elections.

Yeah, he said he won't
"advocate" a tax increase, but I'm sure if the voters (suckers) insist on raising their own taxes, he won't stand in the way.

Glad I missed it!

Of course not. Its called keeping all your options open while sounding like you're taking a stand on principle. We'll see which Gray Davis it is (The "Ah Shucks Ah'm Doin What The People Want" Davis or The You'll Pass A Tax Hike Over My Dead Body" Davis) once the budget's been passed by the middle of the summer.
