If we want to find the silver lining I suppose we can pat ourselves on the back for providing company for a lonely soul. I guess it's us or throwing rocks at passing cars. Consider yourselves, as I do myself, as performing a public service.
The even greater thing is that Paul Begala might be stupid enough to think he could survive a round with Keyes.
I am VERY hopeful that this won't become a race-centered show. Keyes is a man of substance, wit, and character. He has much to offer.
Sometimes I have understood his support for George W. Bush to be less than enthusiastic. I sort of wish he would be less, shall we say, "McCain-like", in his support for GW. Nevertheless, in the main, I agree with what he says. His problem is that he's a "my way or the highway" conservative, which may win you a primary or two, but will never win you a general.
