His Creation is in a different dimension entirely -- it is temporal, subject to time. To God, a day is the same as 1000 years and vice-versa. This sets God apart from us, qualitatively.

His creation is material. He is Spirit. That sets Him apart from us.

He states point-blank that all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God, and that our sin has separated us from God. That, too, sets us apart.

The fact that we are in His image and likeness probably refers to the fact that we, too, are spiritual beings, individual, willful and able to "create" -- but these characteristics in us are measured, finite. Not so with God, who has all without limit or measure.

So, if you're right and I'm wrong, what's the upshot? My sin is that I'm God and didn't know it? On the other hand...

Sin? No. "I'm God"? No, just in the image of God, having His essense - like a drop of sea water and the Ocean or a sun beam and the Sun.

The only way God's creation makes sense to me is that it is perfect (first Biblical description) and that we do not percieve that perfection because of ignorance and superstition. We are confined to our limited, flawed (sinful), human world (second Biblical description - Adam & Eve) much like early Europeans were confined to their "flat world" because of ignorance and superstiton. That limited and flawed world view created their boundries until their mistake was realized and their consciousness expanded, allowing them to eventually experience the true reality of a round world.

I take the teachings of Jesus Christ to describe the true reality which we still do not accept because too many still process reality through ignorance and superstiton, relying on appearances and focusing on temporary human appetites. We are living in the spiritual equivalent of a "flat world" ignorantly defined by appearances and enslaving us in the illusion of a false reality.
