Bob Stoops is headed to Florida. That according to a report from a Florida TV station minutes ago. Mike stoops and others on the staff can tell you that they did not know of this decision until moments ago. More later.

Who is Bob Stoops and why should we care that he is going to Florida?

THE SOONER SCHOONER DERAILS AGAIN!

This is the best possible choice. The Gators won't even break stride.

Stoops, head coach at OU goes to UF.
May not matter to you, but millions live & die with college football.

Bob Stoops is headed to Florida. =========================================
Will Stoops bring as much class to the SEC conference as Spurrier apparently did.....? See below.

You both should be happy such a man [as Spurrier] coached in the SEC. He brought an element of class to the conference. Something you and RT might want to brush up on.

Well I am one of the others in this country, that is you either hate Stevel or love him. I have been close to football for 50 years and Stevil does rank with the most classless A--holes we have ever endured. The only thing he is still able to make it to the top of the list with Mike Ditka,Norm Van Brocklin and John Mc Cay. Ah what a legacy, and now the Gates have some class, good luck Bob Stoops.

The key to Stoops coming to Florida is in recruiting, he already has the contacts and knows the recruiting game in Florida, now the bigger question is who will the offensive coordinator and QB coach be.

If this Stoops has the same temper that his brother has, then he'll easily fill the Gator-haters' bill.

You a Dawg, Vol or 'Bama fan by any chance? Seems these groups are particularly angry about the last ten years...

You definitely have the wisdom of years!

Bama fans aren't mad about the last ten years. I think "Coach Superior" is the finest coach in the country. He has done more for SEC Football than anyone since "Bear Bryant". How could a Bama fan possibly be mad at any team than can "Whip" Tennessee year after year. Now those "Vols" are who we're mad at and someday in the future we'll beat them again. I just hope I live long enough to see it.

Here Here brother. They're acting like the neighborhood wimp who gets all brave and puffy against the big boys once an adult arrives to insure they won't get pounded.
To: VA Advogado
exactly. It's all rather amusing. The funny thing is that they were the bullies and we were the wimps for 50 years until Steve Spurrier. Spurrier simply isn't afraid to have fun at the other teams expense, so they call him classless, etc. With Stoops we should be pretty good, though I think Jacobs is going to leave along with Gafney, Caldwell, Pearson, Berlin, Sheppard...

I guess you're right. Apparently TN fans are the ones that are really PO'd. Georgia fans tend to be very cordial and polite during the FL vs. GA weekend and likewise are treated the same. They pretty much tell us they expect to lose. TN is a different story. They have developed some sort of complex about the whole thing....(the fact that S.S. is from just up the road from Knoxville and that he enjoyed taunting Pey-ton just makes them worse)

Winning knows know equal when it comes to jealousy.

Reminds me of the way the liberals trashed Reagan once he was out of office, but could never defeat him on the 'playing' field.
