Local TV news media report that the pilot was 15-year old Charles Bishop. He was reported to be an honor student at East Lake High School who had been taking flying lessons for about two years. He took the plane without permission after his instructor told him to do a check of the airplane. At one point, the pilot flew over MacDill AFB. The pilot was killed. There was no fire. No other injuries reported. The wings fell to the ground and the tail of the plane is outside the 28th floor of tbe Bank of America building.

How in the hell was he not shot down!?! This is rediculous! No permission to take off....coast guard following....and everyone is what? Watching him crash into a building?
Coast Guard Helos are armed. Maybe not with air to air but they definitely have small to medium arms on board.
Who in the Heck is "homeland security" to make a call on what this was or wasnt!?
Bunch of....
The more I learn about this, the more pissed off I am getting....thank you Jesus.
