Supposedly, the guy apologized to the SOC Manager from American for his tirade, but then, I guess, must have reconsidered his apology.

No, thats not true. On the American Website the SOC manager stated that the Agents supervisor said he was sorry. This was said during the process of trying to get the agent back on an American flight the next day so he could get to Crawford. Whether the Agent ever made any such comment is purely speculation. Again you are accepting the American Airlines lawyer prepared document as factual. It may or may not be.

From 01-04-2002, Security agent, airline offer conflicting stories

In another statement, the unnamed manager of American's System Operations Control Center in Fort Worth said that he spoke with the agent by telephone. "He [the agent] admitted to not properly filling out the paperwork for carrying a weapon; not once, but twice," the manager said. "He also admitted to losing his temper with the captain because he was asked for his ID five separate times."

I stand corrected.

However, I'm sure this apology would have ended the whole deal......but.....CAIR, which is on hair-trigger-alert for any hint that an Arab might be inconvenienced or singled-out after 9/11, no doubt went to this agent and hustled him into the booty line at Relman and Associates.

Look, we've all gotten into heated exchanges and said things we wish we hadn't. Typically, these are resolved by cool heads later in the day or the next day.

But the agent CHOSE to escalate this into literally a Federal issue. Why in the world would American Airlines, which is already targeted by terrorists, want to provoke the innocent Arabs and every liberal interest group by taking a public stand like this?

They were pushed to the wall by a bunch of civil rights pimps who are using a high profile professional to score points in their mythical battle against discrimination.

All because somebody got their feathers ruffled.

As Patton said when he slapped the soldier, I'm sure the pilot wished "he'd kissed the SOB."
