This was sort of a joke. The President is Commander and Chief and Captain is a rank in the Air Force. All I ment is this pilot should have respected the President enough to at least try to verfy this agents identity. He should have called the Whitehouse. The number is easy to find. Had this been some podunck sheriff it would have been different. In fact this Pilot did this so some sherriff a while back and that is fine with me. The President of the United States deserves the utmost respect and deserves to have his agents guarding him. This dis-respectted the President as well as this agent.

Fair enough. Sorry if my sarcasm/humor detector is off — I can't tell with some people at this site. However, I don't view this incident as "disrespecting the president," but rather one pilot making a judgement call and erring on the side of caution to ensure the safety of his flight. Also, once again, while I don't doubt the honesty of secret service agents in general, it seems that the pilot's side has more evidence to support it. Since both the agent and the pilot have a motive to lie, it seems fair to judge who is tellng the truth based on who has more independent support of their account.
