Here's one from Karen who's from upstate, New York. Big territory. "Bill, I almost always agree with you, but you are really wrong on this one. The pilot did exactly the right thing. And anyone who believes a government ID cannot be forged is living in a fantasy."

One thing that is not debateable is this Agent was who he claimed to be.

Well, then, why didn't he have the proper identification and paperwork with him?

Since he's claiming agent status, he should have been familiar with how to travel and what documents he would need.

What couldn't he get it filled out properly in three tries?

Here is the bottom line!! A pissed off Secret Service Agent is better than a crashed aircraft!! Period...end of story!!

We need to ask Mr Impish just how many American lives he is willing to sacrifice upon the altar of pre-911 Political Correctness.

If you're going to quote the supervisor, do it correctly:

Text of SOC Manager’s Statement:

I was working as Center Manager on Christmas and received a call from Captain

(employee number ) flying flight 363 from BWI/DFW. The Captain had a concern about a passenger onboard his flight. The Captain first requested a fax containing all wanted terrorist photos that American had available. I explained that this was not possible and asked exactly what problem he was encountering. He said that he received paperwork for a passenger that stated he was a Secret Service Agent and would be traveling armed. The Captain said that the paperwork contained scratched out flight numbers and may have been altered. I then suggested that the Captain request new paperwork. The Captain called back again and stated the he was still questioning the validity of this passenger working for the Secret Service because the secret service agent had failed to fill the paperwork out properly again. I asked if he had looked at the agent credentials. He said you work for the airline, you know how easy it would be to get fake I.D. I suggested that I could call the Secret Service and verify that this passenger was in fact an agent. I asked the Captain to request the agent’s superiors [sic] name and number. The Captain said that we should not use his information because he could have a friend answering the phone when we called. I then suggested get the local police to verify the I.D. since, being located at BWI, they would have exposure to Secret Service I.D.’s and contact phone numbers. The next phone call I received was from the AA ticket agent at BWI. He said that the Secret Service agent had verbally abused the Captain and that the Captain was denying him boarding. I asked to speak to the police officer that was witness to this, who then verified what the ticket agent had stated. Based on this, I then decided to end boarding to this passenger on future AA flights. Later, I received a call from the AA ticket agent at BWI and was asked to talk to this Secret Service Agent. I then heard the Secret Service Agent’s side of the story. He admitted to not properly filling out the paperwork for carrying a weapon; not once, but twice. He also admitted to losing his temper with the Captain because he was asked for his ID five separate times. When he asked why he was denied future boarding, I explained that I could not expose AA crews or passengers to abuse. He said he was being discriminated against, wanted my bosses [sic] name, and threatened that he would have my job. He was going to take this to the highest authority. I asked for his superior’s name and contacted him. I explained the situation to the superior. He confirmed that this man did work for the Secret Service, and would contact him. A short time later the agent’s superior called back and said that he was sorry for losing his temper and would like to travel out of DCA the next day. He then stated that the agent was of Middle Eastern descent. I explained to the superior that I did not know this and that there was no discrimination in the denied boarding process with SOC. I was 1,000 miles away from the situation and handled it as we would for any unruly passenger. We agreed the agent could travel the next day.

Even the agent's supervisor admitted the agent lost his temper.

The Captain of an airplane, the same as a ship at sea, has the final say-so.

Your absolutely right about that. He should be fired. We need pilots with good judgement.

Untill the facts show otherwize I will believe the Agent. Besides based on the facts avaiable so far AA's tale makes little sense.

Sure, but your source of facts is a transcript of a bunch of blowhards on CNN.

The Libertarians support the "right" of anyone to carry C4 plastic explosives in their shoes, so anyone exercising their authority (in this case a pilot) must be fired, since it's all nunya bidness. LOL!

It may just be semantics, but this agent was of the "Caucasian" race. Do not fall into the liberal trap of making Hispanics and Arabs "races" unto themselves.

Even the agent's supervisor admitted the agent lost his temper.

Which is why I believe this SS agent is filing suit to save his career. I don't think someone with a quick fuse would be allowed to stay in the presidential detail.

I was replying to your speculative explanation, concerning the agent possibly having been a nervous flyer that had too much to drink as a reason for his attitude, nothing more. USSS agents should remain sober when in the public eye. Anything else would reflect poorly on them.

Do you even KNOW who his attorney is? Do you know how many of these cases these attorneys have worked on?

Yes - John Relman, an attorney for the 10 current and former black agents suing the government for racial bias. Also a housing attorney. - See post 51 also

I know you believe there is no such thing as racial bias. When you are arrested you do not get the best criminal attorney.

I have a big problem with American Airlines own reply. They complain about his Mid-Eastern History book claiming it is in arabic which it is not. This agent can not even read any arab languages being a lifetime American. They ask for pictures of terroist then claim they didn't even know he was arab-american "I wasn't racial profiling" (seem's he protesteth too much). The pilot tells his supervisor not to call the Whitehouse. Give me a break. If I ignore everything this agent says AA still convinceses me they are guilty.

I don't think I would want to fly with a pilot that ignored his gut instint on a matter so serious.

I'm sure if he had been a hijacker and the plane had gone down every one would blame the pilot for letting him on...

I get it now, you're not interested in the facts (since the supervisor's report is posted above) you just want to make it up as you go along.

While you're answering that last question of mine, would you care to tell all of us why killing Americanas isn't racial bias?

Isn't Muslims hating Americans racial bias? When they attack only Americans, isn't THAT racial profiling?

Why is it that you all never ever contemplate the fact that anybody other than a white Americans can be a racial bigot.

I can not believe you still believe the Media Lies told yesterday. Seems the President should outrank any captain. The president ordered this man on to this flight to protect the President. This Captain had no right to refuse passage without even bothering to call a local number.
Where did you get this garbage from? The president ordered this man on to this flight to protect the president? So W was on this flight? News to me. The president doesn't have the authority to order this captain or any other to let a potential terrorist to board. He had every right to refuse, if I had been witness to this scene and the pilot had let this scumbag fly anyway, I'd sue AA for reckless endangerment. Work with facts. Blackbird.

Yes, I agree. Actually, I almost prefer this explanation. Otherwise, this agent sounds like a product of the Clinton entitlement era. Anyone who threatens to use the power of his position to get people fired is acting like a thug. I thought Secret Service Agents had to be of a higher mentality and character.

Yeah, I was thinking that myself, probably associated with some group or even the attorney's office. I'd say he/she's losing the arguement about 75 to 1
