My favorite Steve Spurrier Story:

The Gators were running it up big against some poor school who had no business playing this big time power house, maybe Duke or Wake Forest. Either way, it was early in the 3rd quarter and Steve’s boys were up something like 38-0. On 2nd and 1 near mid field, he called an alignment of GCG bunched together as normal, split 5 yards wide were the wide outs and 5 yards beyond that were the Tackles.

Having never seen this before, the opposing D, already humiliated, turned to their bench in confusion. Before they could call a time out, Florida snapped the ball, delivered a laser to a speeding WR on a slant and rang up another six.

Just left a nice taste in everyone’s mouth. A paragon of class and sportsmanship that Spurrier is.

What will be real interesting is to see how he gets along with Randy Moss…

I think we have the winner, and after all those lean years we deserve one.

In my earlier reply I was referring to Andy Reid, not Spurrier.
