Abused women might flee their attackers several times before they leave for good because they can't afford a new place to live, or they're still in love with the man, Beran said.
Afford a place? Where are all those darn donations and forced federal funding for shelters? If they don't have a place to stay after so much of my income is consumed paying for just such a place what more do these women want from me? I like the slipping of love in as a motivator. I'd say these women are sick, and most of them are playing the game of being a victim which has more reward in our society then ever before. Some people like abuse, otherwise there wouldn't be internet sights dedicated to Sado-masochism.
Punishing abused women for going home -- however unwise their decisions appear to be -- creates ``a chilling effect'' that can discourage other women from seeking protective orders, said Sherry Currens, executive director of the association.
No dear, I think the punishment is for going to a court to get them to use their monopoly of force to restrain a man, and then ignoring the very directive they requested. They think that the order is some kinda ace in the hole I guess. These women are in fact abusers. Abusers of our legal system.

Women don't have to fear going after the restraining order.. they have to be afraid of crying wolf
Both points well put! Some form of punishment must be metted out for wasting the Courts time and Taxpayers money. If these women dont take the orders seriously, how can they expect anyone else to?
