Well gosh darn, I can't think of even ONE constitutional violation in having a camera take your picture while you commit a crime IN A PUBLIC PLACE!

As far as the merits of the case are concerned, you should count your blessings. If it had been a cop instead of a camera, you wouldn't be able to float that BS story about trying to avoid an accident. Maybe throw in something about having a heart attack victim in the car on the way to the hospital. Carte blanche, guy! Good luck

He wouldn't need to float the story because the cop would have heard the tires squeal from the guy skidding and seen the incident go down.

A little anal-retentive, aren't we? Rules are REALLY IMPORTANT to you, hmmm? Even when they are just disguising a stealth tax increase.

See my reply, above.

And the traffic camera fiasco almost certainly ended the political career of at least one Democrat up here, so it was worth the battle.

You bonehead.

The issue is about corruption of our constitutional rights. Having your license plate photographed in a red light intersection is not a crime, it is a civil penalty created by a the local city council without regard to due process.

Being deprived of due process is the real crime.
