We have to DIG for grass for our shih tzu! But I am very familiar with "the look."
Um, much as I hate to admit it, I actually bought some of those "doggie boots" today.......now he REALLY thinks I'm nuts!

As much as I enjoy snow, please tell me that type of year only happens once every hundred years!!!!????

no one can drive on the ice. And down here in the south, when you get snow you get ice. We usually get more sleet and freezing rain than snow.

I remember seeing a guy from your neck of the woods trying to sell his yard full of snow on EBAY. Photos and everything! Couple of years ago maybe . .. I about laughed myself silly. Free for the hauling . . . . .
I shoulda tried that last year when I had to shovel my roof.

I just walked outside and wrote "eddie" in the snow.
Another glass of iced tea and I'll go do "willers".

Here in the northeast Columbia, SC area, we've got two to three inches of snow on the ground and it's been sleeting/freezing raining off and on since about 8:00 Eastern (2 1/2 hours). They're calling for a total of 4-6 inches, but looking at the radar, the bulk of the precipitation is off to our north and moving away. I hope we get it, though, I want a full day off of work tomorrow instead of the half day I already know I have (my employer's in downtown Columbia and so far, not opening till noon).
Listening to the police/fire bands on the scanner has been interesting...needless to say, lots of wrecks and cars off in ditches--not that South Carolina drivers need much help to find ditches! :) It's sticking hard, 28 degrees, icing over and the temperature's dropping. A real mess, glad I'm inside!

Greenville here.
The forest behind the house is like a winter wonderland. The children have been in a snowball fight with neighbors.
We got our ski gear out and went "snow catching" with our tongues.
We're playing snowy Christmas music. :-)
Stocked up on bread and milk early this morning as those things were flying off the shelves.
Luckily, my "war emergency" provisions will hold up for a few days!
Will try to post pics in the morning.
Stay warm!

Just measured here in Hoke County and there is 7 inches ( may vary depending on one's elevation in this area as we are in a "valley" it seems )on the ground! Went to Walmart this afternoon and it took me 1 hour to get home due to poor visibility, slippery roads, and people that can't drive. This is normally a 15 minute drive for me. My brother swears that when it snows here people become instant idiots. There were folks in the ditches lining 15-501 ( leading from Aberdeen into Laurinburg ). My brother is out at this hour pulling some of them out of ditches. We are starting to get a little sleet now as well. The kids are excited though! They have been in and out all night!

Well, all you people down there in the "warm" climate enjoy the snow. I'm sitting up here in western West Va. and we haven't had snow in four years (except a dusting) and the temps haven't dropped below 15. We seem to be in a pocket that falls between the northwesterners and the southeasterners and miss them both. Now when we start talking about floods I can brag along with the best of them. Enjoy. As a southerner I know what you are experiencing.

Raleigh, by NC State. Had to abandon my car off a side road by my house on my way back from work due to the slick roads. It's beautiful, but I'm sure glad I'm not driving inside now! Probably about 2-3 inches on the ground by now. I'm still seeing fairly steady traffic on I-440 (it's in my backyard).
