International tension followed U.S. decisions last month on international arms control agreements, including the Antiballistic Missile Treaty (ABM) made with the Soviet Union in 1972 and the 1972 Biological Weapons Convention (BWC).

In December, the Bush administration announced that the United States was unilaterally withdrawing from the ABM treaty. And a U.S. delegation to a meeting of signatories of the 1972 Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) announced that it would not support the proposed language to a BWC "legally binding verification protocol." The meeting ended prematurely and discussions on the framework for this protocol were suspended until November 2002.

BUMP.

There is an interesting dichotomy here:

One one hand when Bush withdraws from the ABM and pushes for acceleration of a US missile defense sytem ( I am in favor of both of these actions), the socialist Democrats and world government UN types say that the US is abandoning arms control and endangering US and world peace and security (hogwash arguments);

Yet on the other hand when Bush unilaterally cuts US nuke delivery systems to dangerous levels ( a move I am against) the socialists and UN world gobvernment types praise it and herald it as a rebirth and embracing of arms control and they say that the move will enhance world peace and US security (also hogwash arguments).

But then BUsh plays to the communist types when he gives operational details of US missile defense to the Russians (tech details also to the Russians) and Chinese in the face of Chinese nuke missile buildups and unilateral downsizing of US nuke missile systems. For Bush to do all of this is hogwash too.

What the UN, the socialists the Democrats and most European nations want is for total arms control of everything, all guns and all missile delivery systems for nukes for all nations (except Islamic and COmmunist countries). If they succeed at this degree of disarmament then they get the absolute control they want and need to run a world government with no resistance left.
