Yes. Mexico has a long history of class and race distinctions moving from the light-skinned ruling classes to the darker meztizos we in States normally associate with "Mexican". Guess who tends to be richer and who tends to be poorer. Mexico's loss is our gain and eventually their closed society will do them in.

But they are sending us an endless supply of people they don't want. It isn't our gain when those people end up in housing projects and add to a high illiteracy rate here in the US. We now have to offer a Spanish GED because they don't care to learn English or finish school around here.

Maybe you haven't seen the conditions of the border counties lately. They've been declared an economic disaster and are in need of large amounts of federal and state dollars. If immigration was really wonderful for the economy, it should be a different story.
