Looks like it's the me-greed. Seems like a lot of guilty people are posting. How do you Plead?
Here's the thing - most individual's decisions on reproduction have nothing to do with the needs of the Volk as many would like to think. The decision to have children is based on individual needs and wants at a given point in time. By and large, the benefit of having kids today is primarily emotional (which I am not saying is a bad thing mind you) rather than partly economic and social as it has been in the past. Children do cost money to raise and many people would rather spend their earnings on other things or defer their child-rearing to a point where they can afford it.
In order to analyze the issue properly requires that people not look things ideologically, but rather in the light of how people make choices and what factors, then and now influenced the choices they made and make today.
