Kids coming out of our schools today are in many cases completely unaware of America’s true history

You bet, and they are not only unaware of America's true history, they are made to feel guilty about it. And these socialist, anti American public school teachers are walking point in the destruction of this nation. We have seen it close up.

As a reply to your comments on knowledge of history; here is an adaptation of my post from: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/fr/598255/posts?page=1,50 , a very worthwhile thread about an Iwo Jima survivor.

Knowledge of American history is crucial to our future survival. For if Americans are ignorant of what previous generations fought for and the sacrifices they made, we have a country where a character like Kliñtóñ can be elected President. We have a country where the likes of Madeleine Halfbright can make persuasive arguments to Generals like, “What’s the point of having this superb military that you’re always talking about if we can’t use it?”

Ask either of those jokers what Iwo Jima is and they’d probably agree, “Oh, Iwo Jima, he’s Minister of Economic Development for Mauritania. Isn’t he? Yes, yes, I think he is.” OK, let’s try another question for the two of you. During what years did Carl Marx edit the Rhienische Zeitung? “Well let’s see now, he joined with Engels to publish The Manifesto in 1847. We’ll say 1842 to 1843. Yes, yes, that’s it, 1842 to 1843. Final answer.” You’re right!

Our fantastic American history is spoon-fed in an endless stream of vivid documentaries on the History Channel. There is no longer an excuse for being ignorant of it (“What's this black and white stuff? There’s something totally awesome on MTV. I mean, like, they got this dude. Ya know? And, he’s nailed to this crucifix and hangin’ up-side down and then it starts spinning. Turn it on Man!”)

But, there’s no accounting for the choices people will make.
