Wha I have found is that a conservative Christian who is outspoken and declares sin to be sin is typically condemned and accused of "sitting in judgment of the rest of the human race."
Now please note: no stones are thrown, no blood is drawn, no person is imprisoned or fined. Yet the outspoken conservative Christian is accused of "sitting in judgment of the rest of the human race." In truth, he is discerning evil and shining a light on it. And it includes himself. The execution of sentence--the real and full meaning of "judgment"--is reserved solely to God.
The gambit is designed to intimidate conservative Christians into shutting up and allow the corruption of the nation, its morals, and its rising generations to proceed apace.
You are correct of course, in that the left wants to blur the distinction between someone who declares a sin a sin and someone who considers themselves morally superior and qualified to judge.
For example, they want to equate a conservative Christian who is outspoken regarding abortion with the extremists that would bomb an abortion clinic, killing and maiming others in the name of God.
