[history]
After Sept. 11, many Americans did a highly predictable thing. They bought at least one gun to make certain they could protect their families, their property and themselves from terrorists who might be lurking nearby.
FBI statistics revealed that firearms sales jumped by as much as 22 percent right after the attacks, peaking in October with more than 1 million pistols, shotguns and assault rifles sold. There is now, it seems, a lethal weapon (not counting knives and ball bats) for every man, woman and child in the United States. How comforting.

"Bring on those airliners aimed at our front porches and public buildings. Just try and hit us with a cloud of germs or chemicals or a dirty bomb filled with radioactive material. Ha! We Americans are ready. We will just shoot them. Nothing like a load of buckshot to stop an anthrax letter or a dose of 9 millimeter justice to foil a bomb."Lemme get this straight; people actually pay for this rag & the garbage they print therein?
That right?
...it's no wonder to me Detroit was, is, & shall remain forevermore the consummate sewer of the universe.

Lax U.S. gun control is a benefit to terrorists By Dan K. Thomasson "Own a gun? You're a terrorist," says Dan Thomasson.

The Detroit News is actually the more CONSERVATIVE paper(not really since Thomas Bray retired). If you think this is bad, try the Free Press. The News is RINO. The Free Press is Klintonian.
At least the News also printed the John Lott article.

"They used boxcutters, son. You liars in the ASD(Anti self-defense) movement aren't getting through to the public. They are seeing right through you. That's why your buddy Gore lost."~sigh~
Yea-yea...
Wasn't it ever neat.
This sycophant clown & his ilk are pathetic garden-variety COMMUNISTS; out to eliminate the last remaining resistance to their totalitarian pipe dream.
A Socialist-Worker's Paradise pipe dream that's dead as a doornail, I might add.
...come & take it from me yourself; you cowardly pinheaded pansy-assed pinko-punk with a pen.

Bring on those airliners aimed at our front porches...Snotty bastard.
Never mind...
Never mind that the one attack that was stopped on Sept. 11 was stopped by "the people."
Not the government, not the military, not the police, but the "people" that the Second Ammendment refers to.

One of the more difficult things for me?
Was staying
current with just who in the hell was
behind these rags pulling the strings.
Especially the ones I'd have described as, "Conservative" throughout most of my adult life?
I mean, in 1960 Colonel McCormick's Chicago Tribune was about as Right as one could get, correct?
Well, Colonel McCormick's been dead for years; while, this image of his paper?
Lived on within many pople's minds -- regardless the current reality.
For lack of a better word then, I believe that's called a schism.
Presicely what's happened to an overwhelming number of registered Democrats; who continue to support a socialist extreme-Leftist Party which isn't, "Democratic" a'tall.
...trust no US Lamestream media ever, anymore; for they're liars one & all.

Good rebuttals, Dan. You're a powerful voice for gun owners. But expect this drumbeat to continue. It's the gun-stealers' latest talking point. I expect it took Sarah Brady and her gun-hating Svengalis two or three hours to come up with this specious "linkage." It'll work on the soccer moms. But that is a group that's never been noted for its intellectual horsepower.

Thomasson doesn't get it. I keep my guns for people like him and the politicians he votes for. I hope he never learns.

Dan {the author} it seems is a sandwhich short of a picnic. Typical liberal gibberish of extremes being used to out weigh the probable.
To: Mercuria
BTTT ... cool. Gunowner = terrorist. I always wanted another moniker ... was kinda' getting tired of "gunowner."
To: blackie
Molon Labe !!
I have seen this several times, could you tell me what it means?
To: Dan from Michigan
Terrorism can come in many forms.I sleep better knowing there is a gun in the house(without a trigger lock)!
To: Dan from Michigan
At least the News also printed the John Lott article.
Why do I get the feeling they did a cut and paste on Prof. Lott's work and never read it?
To: Not now, Not ever!
Molon Labe = Come and take them
To: Dan from Michigan
I think what he is trying to say is the terrorists are buying AK47s for $300 and selling at gun shows for $50 and sending the money to the STARVING TERRORIST FUND in Afganistan.
It doesn't matter that his gibberish is a lie. Repeat a lie long enough and it becomes impossible to refute but we must continue to pound them when we can.

Thank you for the Ping Lady Mecuria
