If we don't agree let's just rewrite it, like we are doing to the Constitution.

no offense but there is nothing wrong with peace or good will...

God Bless America wasn't in the Bible but has done good as well. No harm done at all. The sentiments are nice ones.
There are better fish to fry. The choice to focus on this is at least seemingly rather excentric.

O.K, let's all popularize the original, non-feminist version:
"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men of good will."
To: SemperFidelis
you're exactly right in your concerns IMHO.
another corruption of the bible is how people say 'the truth shall set you free'. I don't remember where the verse is but it says 'the truth shall make you free'. there's a lot of subtle corruptions like that. It is worth sticking to the original, otherwise we are just writing the bible or the constitution as we go along to suit our needs.

You are exactly right, my friend. Those who cannot understand the powerful implications of this distinction give unwitting aid to the enemy of all mankind. Our Lord said he did not come to bring peace to the world, but a sword. Peace is only for men of good will.

you're right, we should popularize the original; if we are ostracized for sticking to the original rather than the corrupted popular version, then that is good.

None taken.....if there is no difference then let's leave it alone. Unless there is a difference.

God Bless America wasn't in the Bible but has done good as well. Then it is only wishfull thinking. Isn't it?

The problem is that the feminists are too hate-filled to accept the term "man" to mean humankind. They have to elevate themselves. If we could just find some good men to love those ladies maybe they'd soften up a little. Too bad most of them look like Rosa De Lora and Eleanor Clift. How bout it, doc? You up to the challenge? =)

Sounds fair...the original version is better anyway. Clearly I believe in Good Will !!!

This PC stuff just frosts me. Orwell puts it well in saying if "thoughts can corrupt language, then language can corrupt thoughts."

The problem is that the feminists are too hate-filled to accept the term "man" to mean humankind. They have to elevate themselves. Feminism is patricide via abortion. It's a theology of gyncentricity, replacing objective-Biblical morals with immoral power centers.
If we could just find some good men to love those ladies maybe they'd soften up a little.
I've heard this put in much more graphic terms. "They need some..."---you can guess the rest.
Too bad most of them look like Rosa De Lora and Eleanor Clift. How bout it, doc? You up to the challenge? =)
If feminazis looked like Linda Vester (FoxNewsChannel), that would be one thing.
However, they all look like DWORKIN (EVIL HYPERLINK)

I think the author is harping un-necessarily on the priest. I agree that the Catholic church [of which I am am member] needs reform desperately--But if the author thinks he will change any minds with this anger filled piece, he's wrong.
As a side note:
The original texts of the bible were in Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic and was first translated by St. Jerome into Latin, who had access to these texts. He was a towering linguistic genius.
St. Jerome (342-420) was fluent in Latin and greek, Hebrew and Aramaic. He was also 1500 years closer to the original languages than any scholar today, which would make him a much better judge of the exact meaning of any greek or hebrew words in the scriptures. He also had access to ancient Hewbrew and Greek manuscripts of the 2nd and 3rd century that have since perished and are no longer available to scholars today, which is why I choose the Douay-Rheims bible [english translation of the Latin Vulgate] as my bible. =)

Not as many would vote for democrats if they were called by their rightfull names like socialists or communists, instead of 'liberals'.

I really believe these women make themselves look as rough as possible. However, even the most un-attractive women can be loved, and find happiness if they have inner beauty. God...loves pure light shines through!
