Christopher Guest to Rob Reiner, in This is Spinal Tap. Background: Guest was showing Reiner his amplifier that is better than all others because its volume goes to '11', rather than the standard '10'. Reiner asks why not just make the '10' on his amplifier louder. Guest ponders this and then utters the above quote.

I uttered that line when talking to a musician friend recently and the drummer behind him looked at me with wonder in his eyes and said, "I would never have taken you for a Tap Head."

I'm obviously an undercover Tapper.
