What is it about this line that is so memorable? I remember this was a question on Jeopardy or some other game show a few years ago, and I remembered "Cool Hand Luke" immediately, although I hadn't seen the movie in 20 years and couldn't remember which character said it or why.

I think it's such a great line because it is so applicable in life. I am always finding myself in situations where this seems to sum it up.

It's been a long time since I've seen the movie, but if I remember correctly, Strother Martin is the one who says the line in the movie.
