...Things opened up miraculously the friday afternoon before Veteran's Day Weekend for me to fly across the country in -Time of War- to Washington D.C. for the first time since I was ordered to the 1st Cav's Vietnam Trip in the Summer of 1965.
...Because of my work on www.FreeRepublic.com / www.Newsmax.com / www.WeWereSoldiersFILM.com Forums and Talk Radio ...I was personally greeted by .."Why it's ALOHA RONNIE".. as I rounded the corner to our IA DRANG Alumni Conference Hotel Entrance by JOE GALLOWAY. Simply Amazing.
...After our Saturday Night IA DRANG Alumni Dinner honoring RICK RESCORLA who perished at Tower 2 on Sept 11th while saving the lives of 1,000's of others ..just like at our Battle of IA DRANG-1965 and at the Bombing of the WTC-1993 ...a Dinner that ended at midnight...
...we of the U.S. 7th Cav went to our own special informal pre-dawn Ceremony in front of the 3rd Panel of the Vietnam Wall as Lt. Gen. HAL G. MOORE -&- JOE GALLOWAY read out the names of our IA DRANG-1965 fallen brothers whose names are posted there after which we all sang "GOD BLESS AMERICA" -&- "AMAZING GRACE." This brought me back full circle from being first ordered to Vietnam just 15 miles from that spot at Ft. Meade Maryland 36 years ago and boy did I ever feel it.
...I had been deeply moved to go to D.C. to honor Sept 11th Heroes RICK RESCORLA -&- BARBARA K. OLSON and so later in the day my place was to go to the Pentagon to personally Thank Freeper -BKO- for all she has done for America ...this while BUSH was at Official Ceremony at the Vietnam Wall.
...And then it was time for my Flight back home. Again, Right time Right Place Right Reason as I got seated next to a Political Activist who has been following Freerepublic.com ...and will more now ...as we talked about my Bookmarked ALOHA RONNIE Threads. It just fit the entire weekend.
...Again, Right time Right Place Right Reason ...I landed safely just 5 hours before an A300 Jetliner didn't in New York.
...I am still STUNNED after that trip and I don't think I will ever be the same. NOT EVER.
