I'm a bit late in responding (ya think?? LOL), and please forgive me if I'm repeating myself...? I wrote the story, but the Mead quote was added to the book by its compiler, Alice Gray. (Not guilty here!) 😊 Alice is a lovely woman, actually. Thanks for the nice words regarding my story, though. After all this time, it's even more appreciated! "Have yourself a merry little Christmas!"

Oops! Got ahead of myself; my story appeared in the thread later than the story you wrote about. (My editor/compiler inserted quotes throughout the book I was writing about, so I assumed there was one of those in there. I'm pretty sure there isn't a Mead one in there, though!) Never mind!! 😊

I just enjoyed reading it again. It holds up well.
