Perhaps the gift of Todd Beamer is the reminder to use this time to get our houses
in order, not to prepare for death, but to make life worth living.
Reminds me of a letter that a USAF Academy wrote before he died in service in Vietnam (sorry,
but I can't remember the name).
He wrote that if he died, people shouldn't say he died for his ideals, but that
they should say he LIVED FOR his ideals...and just happened to be killed while
acting on them.
That's a real tribute...to be able to have folks say "he went that-a-way"...doing the right thing.
