Yes, I would've tried to find them too. I would've realized what it meant to them. The kids and grandkids would have wanted it, at least I would hope they would, even if there were no living survivors.
I'm surprised you asked. Do you presume that I'm that petty of a person to have valued the Silver Certificate that much over its sentimental value as to keep it. Some things have an eternal non-monetary value to them. Keepsakes are called keepsakes for a reason.
If I've given that impression then know that I'm not like that.
