Richard J. Riordan tried to escape a tough question the other day. But his wife and most trusted adviser, Nancy Daly Riordan, was having none of it.

The GOP gubernatorial candidate, sitting with reporters, was asked: Does he support funding for contraceptive programs and sex education for teenagers?

Good point.

I re-read the article again and became just as angry as I was the first time. I have four kids -- two girls -- and am sick over this. Just because SOME girls are experimenting with sex when they are 13, why should we encourage it? Shouldn't we tell them, Just Say No?

If they start experimenting with drugs when they're 13, should we hand out the needles and joints and just say, "If you're going to shoot up, be safe?"

Why am I not surprised by this?

I take back a previous post a few weeks ago when I said suck it up and vote for Riordan b/c he'll probably have more conservatives in his administration.

Welcome to the light -- since you are a recent convert to the real world, I hope you will take up the cudgels against the fools who still labor under your former delusions.

Yeah, I'll admit it. I didn't think that Riordan was this big of a scum-sucking RINO. That's why I come to this site.

I am the smartest man in the world, as I am aware of my own faults and limitations.

Somewhat understandable, since as Mayor he had relatively few left-right policies which were relevant to his job. This is one of the reasons some Freepers are supporting Rudy Giulani for VP on another thread. Of course, Giulani is somewhat better than Jim Jeffords, while Riordan is even out there past former Mayor John Lindsay.

I think ole Nancy R. has first hand knowledge about 13 year olds having sex from her own teenage years. SHE LOOKS RODE HARD AND PUT BACK WET... Perhaps a little too experienced IMHO....

Simon is coming on strong. He will win the primary and go on to be the next Governor of the state of California. We let California go "gray" once. It is not going to happen a second time.

Riordan is worse than Davis. Hell, I'd vote for Davis in a minute over Riordan.

Well said. I'd take a socialist Democrat over a socialist Republican anyday.

GO DAVIS!! LOLOL

Hows sad that the Republicans could consider the husband of a leading fund raiser for the Democrats as Governor. How many Democrats has she supported? lets start with ted kennedy, Evan Bayh, Dick Gebhardt, John Kerrey. This should give you an idea. No wonder the Demcrates don't care if Rioedan wins--they can then move their Party furether to the Left. Imagine a Gov. Riordan hosting parties for the Kennedy's! Worse, she is a leading fund raiser for kathleen Kennedy Townsend in marylad, running for Governor. I bet Maryland Republicans are angry at California Republicans!

What's wrong with Nancy Riordan? She is just liberal like her husband. Nice people, but not for public office as Republicans.
