I have been to a couple of them, years ago. I suspect that the downturn in attendance is due to the general economic slowdown, not just 9/11, although it sure didn't help.

It's not a bad thing in my opinion. I would much rather use the time and save the money and all the waiting in lines and go out and see some real attractions like, Crater Lake or the Columbia River Gorge (insert your own great natural type wonders here)than to go to made up cartoon fairylands, but to each their own.
