I don't know, Temple Owl. The University of Wisconsin Madison has quite a history....When I saw the title of the thread, Wisconsin was the first University that came to mind. Isn't this where that pc pig Shalala is from? If I am not mistaken, Wisconsin has some pretty strict sanctions against free speech and is basically a hotbed of liberal Nazism.

Lance, the answer to all of your questions is yes....unfortunately.
The most disturbing facit of the UW community is that due to it's size, it can, along with liberal Milwaukee, put just about anyone into office they want. Hence senators Feingold, Kohl and congressional representative Tammy Baldwin.

Liberal nazism, yes, but academic free speech, no. It was a big deal a few years ago when a few very pro-1st Amendment professors were able to gut the faculty speech code. It helped that one of them (Donald Downs) is one of the foremost scholars on the 1st Amendment in the country.
So the speech codes are dead, but that doesn't stop the student body from shouting down conservative speakers at lectures.
