Humans:
Your cat waits and meows at the front door when you arrive. Is it saying:

Welcome home
The phone rang twice while you were out
Feed me, now

Your cat meows at the door when you go out. Is it saying:

Please don't leave me here all alone
Good-bye
But what if I get hungry while you out?

Your cat digs its claws in your leg. Is this:

An unsupressed primal instinct
A sign of affection
A demand to be fed now

Your cat scratches at the door after being fed: Is it saying:

Lemme out - I need to use the garden
Wanna go out and play
Wonder what they've got to eat next door?

Cats:

Your human walks into the kitchen. Does this mean:

It's hungry
It's lost
You're hungry

Your human puts down a bowl of food for you. Is this:

supper
something to keep you going till supper's ready
inedible junk to be scorned in favour of what the human's got.

Your human removes you from the top of the television. Does this mean:

You're in trouble - better not do it again
Nothing - humans do this from time to time
The human wants to play, so climb up again to amuse it.

Staircases are for:

Getting up to the human's bedroom at 4am
Lying in wait in the dark at the top of
Walking down just slower than the human in front of it.
all of the above

Mine is asking, "Are those sharp enough, or should I go over to the scratching post for a while longer?"

I once read that when a cat rubs against you, it is actually putting its scent on you because it is marking its property. While humans think they are just being affectionate, the cat is thinking that it owns you.

Muggs - I'm definately a dog man, but I knew you'd like to see this. Hope you're doing well and preparing for a Merry Christmas.

Cats aren't really hungry all the time. They're also sleepy a lot.

I am more a dog person and have been so all my life...however, I now have a great big Himalayan kitty named Dizzy....and hes just the sweetest thing...never thought I would actually love a cat as much as I always loved my dogs....

The people who had Dizzy before me, had him declawed....I would never do such a thing to a cat, but this is how he came to us....anyway, he has his kitty condo, with a scratching post....what is funny is to watch him try to sharpen the front claws which he does not have...he just works that scratching post as if he had claws...I guess its an instinctual thing...he is sharpening his paws...Merry Christmas to cat lovers and dog lovers everywhere...

"But to get them really sharp, I will use the leather couch."

If I dared have a leather couch, with three cats in the house... As I type, one is lying atop the monitor, one is on my lap, and the other one is draped around my neck like a fur stole... I think they are gov't spies...

Usually sleeping off a meal, but sometimes they work hard too.

Nermal is exhausted here after a hard day of supervising his FReeper.

Geez..they could almost be twins except for the color! Same markings, same figure, same habits! Does Alex have an attitude?

All cats have attitudes. Alex, to my shame, weighs 27 pounds. Most of his attitude has to do with being fed on time or else the floor under my computer table gets it.
