Bush has been giving Boxer and Feinstein a free ride, letting them pretend they are good, patriotic little Americans. But it's good news about Davis, though hardly surprising.

I kind of have mixed feelings here.

Davis is more conservative than Riordan. Simon and Jones are the best choices, but Jones has no money to capaign. If it is not Simon, I think Davis would be better than Riordan for conservatives. At least Davis is afraid to take on conservatives, while Riordan seems to enjoy it -- particularly on abortion and 2nd Amendment issues, not to mention getting rid of Prop 13.

Wow, the more I think about it, the more I would prefer Davis to Riordan.
